Moving

My wonderful husband built me a very cool blog template, and I'm moving this blog. You can find me at http://pixelpages.org/blog

Waiting

The Elegance scarf that I've been working on has been set aside, because I've spent the past few days organizing my stash and cataloging what I have. It's not as impressive as I thought it was! It looks so impressive in bins on the shelf, but once I went through and actually counted, it's not a whole lot. I did skip some items, like my half skeins of Homespun which I will never use again because I hate hate hate it. I have an entire bin of old acrylics that I use for amigurumi, and it's not even worth cataloging. I might actually thin out that stash a little bit.

I just ordered some Shine and Comfy from Knit Picks. I'm waiting, waiting, waiting and can't wait to get it. I want to make a cozy little blanket for Ian. I haven't knit anything for him! I feel like such a bad mommy.

Itty Bitty

I finished my first preemie hat. I'm doing this knit-a-long by proxy. I did not know Dewey personally, but she had a huge impact on a lot of people, and I know folks who were very close with her, so out of respect of their friendship with her I'm going to make (hopefully) 10 preemie hats this year for donation. This is actually something that I've wanted to do for a long time. My very oldest and dearest friend's first born came into the world at 28.5 weeks and he was teeny tiny, and spent about 3.5 months in the NICU where he was given lots of TLC by some very great nurses. Her second born, my god-daughter was born at 32 weeks and spent some time in the NICU as well, though not nearly as much as her brother. I figure that this is the least I can do to give back to a very giving department in every hospital. These two kids are now thriving 5 and 6 year olds and you wouldn't know that they were born early.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep pumping out hats every year. They're quick knits, I just don't have a lot of time to knit these days, so it took me about 4 nights to finish that hat.

Finished!

I finished up the beret I was working on! I messed up a few rounds early on but luckily it's not noticeable to the naked eye, or at least the non-knitter naked eye. I'm pretty happy with it even with my blunders.

I just started a scarf for myself using some Knitpicks Elegance that I bought on a whim over a year ago. Hopefully it will be a quick project! I only get like an hour a night to knit now.
